Translating "四瀆", acupuncture point TB-9
The reasoning for translating "四瀆" as "Fourth Ditch" from Chinese into English. This is the original name of acupuncture point TB-9 (Triple Burner 9).
Explanation of the point name
At the location of this point there is a short groove between the two muscles. This is the 'ditch,' similar to the 'ditch' in GB-32 中瀆 and TB-6 支溝. It is the fourth such ditch, on the centerline of the outside of the forearm, counting from the wrist.
The first ditch is at 3 cun from the wrist at TB-6, the second at 5 cun, the third at 6 cun, the fourth, where this point is located, at 7 cun. They can be felt by running the nail of ones index finger along the centerline of the outside of the forearm.
